  Year 10 Elective - 'Speak Up' (10 - Year 10 Students)VCAA Plain English Speaking Award State Final (Speak-Up Excursion)Location: Treasury Theatre, Lower Plaza, 1 Macarthur St, East MelbourneStudents in this elective will be studying public speaking and various oral communicationstrategies. The VCAA Plain English Speaking Award State Final consists of the eight students from across Victoria from the PESA competition. 2017 DAV JUNIOR PUBLIC SPEAKING SEMI FINALS

  You child has earned a place in the semi-finals of the 2017 DAV Junior Public Speaking competition. This is an interschool public speaking competition that provides students with the opportunity to create and present speeches on issues of interest to them. Through participating, students will have the opportunity to develop their communication, organisation, research, creative thinking and analytical abilities. Venue: St Bede’s College, 2 Mentone Parade, MentoneDate: Tuesday 25 JulyTime: 5:00pm to 7:00pmTransport: Parents will need to provide transport for this child to and from this competition. Students should arrive at St Bede’s College no later than 4.45pm for a 5.00pm start. Please look for signage and direction upon arrival at St Bede’s College. Parents are encouraged to stay and watch their student compete. A Huntingtower staff member will be present at the competition, as will staff from the Debaters Association of Victoria. School uniform should be worn. Students should bring pens, paper/cue cards and a drink bottle.
