Year 9 2018 Parent Information Evening

  Year 9 is a very special, but demanding year and it is important that you and your child are well prepared for it. With this in mind, please join us on Tuesday 17th October at 6.00pm, in the Lower MYC for an information evening about the programs and opportunities, available to students in Year 9.During the course of the evening you will hear about the aims and objectives of the Year 9 Programs, and be briefed on what the entire year holds for both students and parents.It is essential that at least one adult family member is present, as you will be given important information regarding details such as the equipment needed for the physical component; uniform requirements and expectations of the students. There will also be opportunities presented to parents to help out with the program, and ask any questions they may have. All Year 8 students are expected to attend. Year 10 & 11 French Trip 2018 Parent Information Night

  YEAR 10/11 FRENCH TRIP 2018Location: VCE FoyerThe opportunity for Senior French students to embark on an exchange program to France in December - January, 2018/19 is being offered to students in Years 10 and 11, in 2018. This is an enriching and immensely beneficial linguistic and cultural experience, recommended by many previous Senior French students. This is a reciprocal exchange. The French students arrive at the end of June/start of July for 5 weeks and your child will depart for France in early December, staying with the same French family for 5 weeks until early January, during which time they attend school and enjoy Christmas and holiday festivities in a true French milieu. The ‘Almost French’ experience is located with schools in Reims, Lille, St Amand les eaux and La Rochelle. An information session will be held for interested students and parents regarding the program on: Wednesday 18 October at 7PM – VCE FoyerAt this meeting Mrs.Fanny Phillips who organizes the ‘Almost French’ experience will discuss her program, distribute brochures and application forms, and answer any queries. Debaters Association of Vic Schools Comp Finals (Yr 9-10)

  Year 9 to 10Teams who finish top of their ladder at the conclusion of the regional section of the DAV Schools Competition progress into the state finals.Debates are held weekly and students only remain in the competition as long as their team remains undefeated. Once a team is defeated they are not able to continue with the competition.
